Salah satu contoh flashdisk yang lebih fungsional adalah saat berhadapan dengan laptop yang tidak dibenahi dengan dvdrom drive, sehingga FD menjadi sangat esensial (ya iyalah… kan laptonya gak punya DVDrom).
